ABOUT UNDERDOG
Our Mission & Origin
Underdog Basketball was founded by Christopher Moran on a summer night in 2017. What began as a way to earn extra income and stay connected to the game by helping athletes in the community has grown into the Lehigh Valley’s premier skills development destination.
What started as private sessions at a park, Underdog has expanded into the area’s highest-rated skills development program, serving over 1,000 athletes and supported by 100+ five-star reviews. Today, Underdog operates out of the Underdog Skills Academy, a dedicated training facility in partnership with First Baptist Church of Bethlehem, offering year-round programming for athletes of all ages and skill levels.
The “Underdog” name is more than a brand—it’s a mindset. It represents the player who works harder than they’re credited for, shows up before the lights are on, and refuses to let their current circumstances define their ceiling.

FOUNDER & LEAD TRAINER · UNDERDOG BASKETBALL
CHRISTOPHER MORAN
Christopher Moran is the founder, lead trainer, and driving force behind Underdog Basketball. A Delaware Valley University graduate, Christopher scored 1,000+ points, won two conference championships, and earned Division III All-American recognition during his collegiate career before taking his game professionally to Mexico's Libassur League.
After his playing career, Christopher channeled his passion for the game into coaching and player development. Over the past 9+ years, he has trained 1,000+ athletes ranging from youth players just beginning their basketball journey to college and pros. His coaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every player, regardless of their background or current skill level, has untapped potential waiting to be developed.
The game has always been more than just basketball for Coach Chris. It’s where he learned discipline, resilience, and leadership, lessons he now aims to pass on to every athlete I train.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT TRAINER · UNDERDOG BASKETBALL
CASSIDY SAYLOR
Cassidy Saylor brings a high-level playing background and a natural ability to teach the game to every Underdog session. A Division I and Division II collegiate athlete, Cassidy began her career at Wagner College on a full athletic scholarship before transferring to East Stroudsburg University, where she continued to develop as both a player and a student of the game.
Since starting her skills development journey, Cassidy has trained players from elementary school age through the collegiate level. Her approach to development emphasizes game-realistic training, exceptional attention to detail, and teaching athletes how to think the game, not just run through drills.
Cassidy's unique combination of high-level playing experience and genuine passion for teaching makes her one of the most impactful trainers in the Lehigh Valley. She believes that confident athletes are built through consistent, purposeful work , and that mindset is evident in every session she runs.
